Terms of Service

1. Who you are contracting with
These terms govern any website-design, WordPress development, or maintenance work delivered by John Hitchens, freelance web designer (United Kingdom). By making a payment or accepting a project brief you accept these terms.
2. The service
Fixed-price website builds (£400) include: a single WordPress site built from a chosen template, basic SEO setup, mobile responsiveness, and up to two rounds of revisions inside the agreed scope. Anything beyond that is treated as additional work and priced separately.
3. Timeline
We aim to deliver in 2 to 3 working days once we have received your content (text, images, logo) and your payment has cleared. Late content delays the build proportionally.
4. Payment
Payment is made in advance via Stripe. Once the build is complete and signed off, the site is yours. Hosting, domain registration, and ongoing maintenance are billed separately.
5. Refunds
If we have not started work, the deposit is fully refundable. Once design work has begun, the deposit covers the time already spent and is non-refundable. If the final site does not match the agreed brief, we will rework it free of charge.
6. Liability
We will take reasonable care to deliver a working, accessible site. We are not liable for downtime caused by your hosting provider, plugin conflicts you introduce after handover, or content you publish yourself.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by English law. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
